More Photos

This was my favorite statue in all of florence it was freakin brutal it was called hercules and david which i didnt understand but either hercules or david is about to get his head bashed in by that giant club. Shaweeeeet
These were the tourists dancin in the street to some fun music that i went out and showed them all up with my mad worm skills. haha seriously the only thing i can do that doesnt look completely ridiculous when it comes to dancing.
Ya that is san marco the most famous cathedral in all of venice it was quite beautiful the freakin pigeons there were crazy punks they would swarm all over your body without even being invited how rude.

This was my amazing view out the back porch of the dolomites. There was a nice little rainbow that day. The clouds amazed me they were perfect with no pollution it was beautiful.

My Pictures

Here is my personal favorite that i took.

There is Sem and Briana Sem has a tendency to take pictures with a goofy half open mouth but i still think he is a great guy.

Me and Luca at the Beach. Children go naked at the beach it was quite strange for me at first but eventually it didnt bug me so much. Me in all my white splendor. Im a little bit tanner now but not by much.

This guy was singin beatles in a dark corner so i gave him a few bucks, it was pretty popular for italian street singers to sing the beatles or other english songs and not even speak english, so they just mumbled vowels and sang the main choruses right . . .  kinda. He was singin Yestderday.

Here is just a small section of the amazing sardegnian coast oh my goodness isnt it beautiful.
Ok these arent all my pictures because i took over 3 thousand and they would bore you to death but here are some highlights.

My entire Italy vacation in one simple easy to use format!!

Alright already, I read Paul's blog about all the family blogging except me and john and dan so i decided i will write at least one so we will be that much closer to being a lunatic family of bloggers. So if I turn into a nut like Sarah I'm blamin you Paul. Oh and I love you insanely Sarah but the reason i usually dont use any punctiation or capitalization is because the keyboards in italy are all ski-womp-as. so it is difficult ok. well lets see imma blog about my adventures in italy and maybe even throw in some pictures if you get lucky. lets see i got here on june 12 ten days after my birthday and i was immediatly culture shocked by the lay out of the town. having a yard at all means you are upper class. the houses are jammed together it is so crazy ill throw in a picture maybe at the bottom cuz i dont know how to put one in inbetween the writing. so anyways. i got here not speakin a lick of italian and now i speak it a litttle bit, but still not much. so i stayed with my amazingly beautiful and accomadating sister briana and her fiance sem who is equally acomadating and amazing. they took me all over sardegna (pronounced Sardenia which has created some confusion). so after three weeks of beaches mountains and being the real spiderman for a whole night i decided it was time to spread my wings and fly to the mainland. The ferry ride over was amazing the ferry was flippin huge and like a cruise ship. Then i was in genoa which was really creepy because i didnt know anything about the city and it seemed dirty and unfriendly but once i started asking directions every was like oh ya go here and here and here and where are you from? How long are you in italy for? cool cool have a good time! so then i got more comfortable but there was one time where i went through an underground tunnel road and got nervous so i made up a game called ''Siffilus youre it'' basically you run like mad and hope no one gives you siffilus. it was good for a few laughs. so then i got on the train and met some really radical (amazing for those of you who dont know my slang) people who were veteran expatriates. well i arrived in trient or trento depending on how you wanna say it and i went sight seeing for a day but there wasnt much to see so i decided to go stay with a woman i was gonna wwoof (world wide work on organic farms) with. so she housed me and i worked on her farm which was right at the base of the dolomites (a beautiful mountain range at the north east of italy) she took me to the beaches on my days off and let me stay in her mountain house without electricity or running water by myself for a week which was a totally amazing experience.  then we went to a beach near venice and i hung out with a really cute french slash new zealand girl who was a runner and a martial artist and a swimmer and a bunch of other stuff. we went to a discoteca one night and i made a fool of myself as i often do when there is loud music and  a dance floor. but it was totally worth it even if now she does think i have mental retardation. then i went to venice and was there for a day, it was so ridiculously amazing i almost died. i had made a bet with a friend that i would go swimming in the canals naked. everyone had advised me against this because it is the most disgusting water they had ever seen. so i jumped into one of the bigger canals where it wasnt quite so dirty once in a took my swimsuit off really quick and put it back on, the water was so dirty and dark that no one knew but me so i figure it wasnt a sin of perversion or anything. haha. i got bored of walking around by myself so i started to talk to random strangers that spoke english and met a bunch of students who were with schools from america on field trips to italy. it was pretty rad. there was a group of tourists dancin out in the street to some loud disco music so of course i had to run out and make a fool of myself. i did the worm with my fourty something odd pound backpack on and they all took pictures of it sadly i didnt get any of the pictures. after a full day of walking around with minimal sleep and carrying a huge backpack all day i decided to head to florence my next stop.  When i got to florence it was something like 6 in the morning and i had to hike to find the campground i was staying at. but the campground was right at piazza michelangelo and the view was stunning it is known as the best view you can find in all of italy(i think it was the best of florence but the dolomite mountains were my favorite view) it was simply breathtaking i took literally hundreds of pictures of the same view because each time i looked at it i couldnt breathe. Well i went to the campground where they had tents and bunks and my bunk mate was a man from mexico who taught school in the fall and winter and traveled the world in the spring and summer he was pretty radical. After one day of sight seeing in florence i got bored so i had to make up a way of entertaining myself. I decided i would find all three david statues get in my underwear doing his pose and find the cutest girl around at the moment to take the picture. Haha this was an awesome way to meet some hotties and i recommend it to any guy who is bored in florence. Afterwards i would talk to the girls but eventually my spanish or italian would run out and so i would say goodbye and get a kiss on both cheeks for my troubles. haha well as i was wandering one day in florence i somehow stumbled into a giant private garden which upon further investigation i found out was the garden of a ritzy hotel. well to get out or in you had to show your key card to the man at the front gate so when i was done exploring this grand hotel i waited for some other guests to leave and then hurriedly snuk out the door after the security guard unlocked it haha take that ritzy hotel. Well the rest of my time in venice was spent in the Piazza Di Signora where all the famous statues that you can see for free are, i was a big fan of seeing things for free. So then i got on the train for rome where i met my wonderful sister briana. it was amazing to walk on streets that have been in use for over 2 thousand years. the coloseum was amazing the forum was amazing the churches the fonta trieve all of it amazing. but i liked florence more. well in roma (rome in italian) i decided i had to do something crazy so i found a street singer in one of the biggest plazzi (plazzas) and when he tried to sing hey jude by the beatles i ran out and stole the mike and screamed out the lyrics that i knew by heart. I got several standing ovations for my trouble and the street singer just went with it and started sayin i was kirt Cobain reincarnated so i started to sing come as you are but i forgot the lyrics so i just sang ''come as you are as you were i dont know the words to this song . . .it doesnt matter though cuz most of you dont even speak engliiiish engliiiiiish italy is rad but most of you italians are retarded reeetarrrded'' all the tourists laughed at this and the italians laughed too but i doubt they knew what i was sayin. So then we went to napoli the next day and after hearing terrible things about how they treat women like crap and they are gonna steal everything you have in napoli we were very worried. But as soon as we arrived and whipped out the map a random old man came up to us and said ''are you guys lost? here where are you going i can help'' so he gave us directions. we figured this was a one time thing but again another man pointed out our hostel too us. So i think napoli has a bad rep in italy it was the friendliest place next to sardegna that i got to see. we went and spent a day at the amalfi coast which was amazing the people build their houses right on the cliff faces on the beach it was beautiful. we spent a day in pompeii which i cant even explain you will just have to go there for yourself. to imagine that we were looking into the lifes of people that lived almost 2 thousand years ago and that these houses had been relatively undisturbed all that time after the eruption of vesuvius in 79 ad was wild in pompeii to keep up my shinanigans we snuk into a bunch of closed off areas and snuk into a park slash garden to have lunch so haha security guards take that. then on sunday i finally got to go to church in italy i was looking for a chapel so it took forever to find the church but i finally found it in the bottom floor of an old apartment building but it was still beautiful inside and hearing the lesson in italian with a girl translating into english was pretty freakin radical. in sacrament meeting the people bore their testimonies of going to the temple and their isnt a temple in italy they had to go to switzerland to go to the Lord's house. but the spirit was so powerful i started crying because you could tell by the way they spoke how much it meant to them to be able to visit the temple and for the older members to get ordinance work done even though i couldnt understand most of what was being said i could feel the emotion being expressed. well with that note we went back to rome to get briana's wedding papers this time we stayed with her roman friend who was an older lady who knew all about the history of rome so she made up a tour for us to take. it consisted mostly of beautiful chapels we had missed out on because they look really plain from the outside. well we got the paperwork done and headed back for bosa, sardegna my current home away from home. it is beautiful here i took lots of pictures but the beaches are simply stunning. on friday there was a small group of people celebrating a pre festival festival for a bigger festival that happens in feburary for a week. in the big festival in february all the people dress in black all day long every day for six days, their children and babies in black their faces painted black, and they run rampant in the streets all day every day grabbing womens breasts saying ''give me milk for my baby'' suppossedly this ''tradition'' (i think its just cuz perverted old men like to grab some booby) comes from a story of a women who had no breast milk and so she ran around trying to find a woman to feed her baby. anyways in the night all the people switch to all white clothes and faces painted white and party in the streets all night every night for six nights. I was told that by the last day people are stumbling in the streets delirious from alcohol and sleep deprevation. sounds like some of my friends kind of party. anyways this party happens in february so sadly i will not get to see it. but the small prefestival took place two days ago where the commune (local government like a city council) dresses all in white and parades down the street wearing white robes and random goofy apparel. they follow a red jeep with speakers strapped on the sides and music blaring. I ran out into the middle of the street and they wrapped me up in paper towels so i was white too. then when they finished parading the biggest plazza in bosa has a dj on a stage and they blast music till 4 in the morning. oh man was it fun. i got up on top of the jeep and the owner was like ''yeah party do whatever you want'' (he was drunk, in fact i was the only one not completely inebriated) so i jump up and down on his hood headbangin and dancing like a madman. then some english girl and some italian women jumped up with me and we caved in the hood then the front suspension started to give so i got outta there. i went up right next to the speaker where the most action was and partied all night. some random spanish girls got my picture with them but sadly i had left my camera at home so you will just have to take my word for it that this really happend. me and the english girl danced a bunch and i found some cute italian chicks to dance with. after everyone was like you americans must party like crazy all the time. and without any alcohol? you are insane. i doubt any of them even remember me now but man did we have fun. well i woke up unable to move my neck so i went outside to see if the streets were still lined with broken bottles and i forgot the key to the house. Briana and sem left to get wine and thought i was still in the house so they closed the door which automatically locks. getting wine consists of going to the vineyard and getting it for 5$ for about 25 or so liters of wine, i dont know the poundage for it only the litters but it is cheap. but the vineyard is about an 8 hour round trip. so i was outside locked out with an extremely stiff and sore neck. i decided this would not work for me so i tried climbing up the drain pipe and in through the window. the window was locked and the carrabinieri (military police) drove by thinking i was trying to break in. they wanted to see my passport which was in the house and i dont speak good italian so it was a very scary situation for me. luckily the neighbor was walking by and explained that i was staying with briana for the summer so they didnt haul me away but now briana might have some trouble with the local military yikes. well i leave on tuesday and i am sad to be going but glad to be going back this trip has taught me how much i take for granted in the states and living in utah where lds chapels are on every corner and everyone has a giant yard even the poor (giant compared to the yards in italy). so that is my blog and now imma try and put on some pictures.
